Ricky Byrdsong Race Against Hate

An annual supporter of the Ricky Byrdsong Race Against Hate, WPNT Ltd. participated this summer with 5,000 other virtual runners to raise money for the cause. The is the first time in more than 20 years that the annual event was held on-line over a two-week period with runners participating in their own 10K runs. The former Northwestern University basketball coach was gunned down by a white supremacist while walking with his children near his home. The event, honoring Byrdsong’s life raises money for the YMCA and outreach efforts to increase understanding.
