Tiny Homes Getting Big Results for Vets

Adding to our list of favorite charities making a difference is the Veterans Community Project. Continuing to grow, the six existing VCP Villages around the country provide a tiny home on the property to a vet. The transitional housing provides privacy, safety and the ability for a vet to reintegrate into society. In addition, each VCP Village has an outreach center with wrap-around services such as VA navigation, mental health referrals, mentoring, case management, and financial and employment counseling as well as food and hygiene products all of which are free.  One of the coolest things about VCP is that any vet can access these services regardless of the timing or the status of his or her discharge. The Veterans Community Project could well be a model for combating homelessness beyond those who served in the military.
